Business Card Layout - Free Online Browser Tool

Impose card-sized pages onto A4 sheets in a 2x2 or 2x5 grid with crop marks.

Designing one card and printing two hundred of it is the normal workflow, not designing two hundred cards. This takes a PDF whose pages are already card-sized and imposes them onto sheets in the grid your stock requires, with cut lines so trimming is quick.

This business card layout utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

Common next steps: Combine 2 Pages into 1, 4 Pages per Sheet (4-Up), Add Printer Crop & Trim Marks, Multiple Pages per Sheet (N-Up).

How to Use the Business Card Layout Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Add your card PDF

Each page of this file is treated as one finished card, so design the card first and keep the page size correct.

  2. Pick the sheet and grid

Two by two for four cards on A4, two by five for ten, or two by three for the larger format.

  3. Choose the crop marks

Leave them on unless your print shop has asked for artwork to reach the trim line exactly.

  4. Download and print

Each sheet carries a small note saying which sheet it is and how many cards it holds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size should my source pages be?

Whatever the card is meant to be — 85 x 55 mm is standard in the UK and Europe, 90 x 50 mm in the US. The tool scales whatever you give it to fit the slot, so being close is enough.

Are the cards distorted if my source is the wrong shape?

No. Each card is scaled to fit its slot without stretching, and is centred in the space that is left over. You may end up with more white space than expected if your proportions differ a lot.

What are the crop marks for?

They show where to cut. Leave them off if your printer has asked for artwork to extend past the trim line, which is sometimes called a bleed.

Can I get ten cards on one A4 sheet?

Yes, choose the 2x5 grid. That assumes 85 x 55 mm cards; for the ten-up sheet the cards are usually a little shorter than the two-by-two layout allows.

Does it split my PDF into separate card files?

No. It produces imposed print sheets. If you need one file per card instead, split into single pages first and print them individually.
