2x2 Poster Tiling - Free Online Browser Tool

Break large poster into a 4-page quadrant tile for regular home printing.

A four-piece quadrant split is the practical version of poster tiling: you get four normal-sized sheets, each holding a quarter of the artwork at true scale, instead of a grid of many small tiles with fiddly joins.

How to Use the 2x2 Poster Tiling Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Load the large poster page

Drop in the PDF containing the oversized page you want to print.

  2. Choose the sheet size

Select A4 or US Letter for each of the four output sheets.

  3. Generate the quadrants

The page is cut into four quadrants — top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right — and each becomes its own sheet.

  4. Print, trim and assemble

Print each sheet at 100% scale, trim to the page edge if the printer cannot print full-bleed, then join the four back into the original poster.

Frequently Asked Questions

How large can the original poster be?

Up to roughly twice the linear size of your sheet — an A2 poster prints as four A4 sheets, an A1 as four A3, and so on.

Why only 2×2 and not 3×3?

Four pieces is the point of this tool: fewer joins means less visible seam and much less assembly work than a finer grid. Use Tile Poster Print for a finer grid.

Do the quadrants overlap at all?

They meet exactly at the quarter lines. Trim cleanly and butt the edges together, using the corner marks to confirm your alignment.

Must I print at actual size?

Yes. "Fit to page" or "shrink to fit" rescales each sheet independently, and the four pieces will no longer meet at the seams.

Does each sheet get an orientation mark?

The pieces are labelled so you can identify which corner of the poster each sheet covers before you start taping.
