Add Content Tools

Adding a layer of your own to an existing document - a header on every page, a page number in the right place, a watermark that cannot be ignored. These tools write text and graphics onto the pages you already have.

  • Free text anywhere on the page, with font, size, colour and rotation under your control
  • Headers, footers, page numbers and Bates numbering applied across a whole document
  • Text or image watermarks, background fills and corner badges for branding

Add Content FAQ

How do I add page numbers that skip the cover?

Set the starting number and the first page to count from two, which is what the page numbering tool exposes as its start-page control. If you also want a different first page, add the cover separately afterwards with the text tool.

Will a watermark block the text underneath?

A text watermark is drawn as a real text layer, so you can choose an opacity low enough to read the document through it. If you need something that can never be selected or removed, draw it as an image and flatten the result.

What is Bates numbering for?

It is a sequential identifier stamped on every page for legal and financial document sets, where each page needs a unique reference that survives being printed and filed separately. The numbering follows a fixed format with a prefix, so the whole set can be cited unambiguously later.
