Merge PDFs - Free Online Browser Tool

Combine multiple PDF files into one single document in any order.

Combining separate PDFs into one file is the single most common edit people need, and almost every online version of it asks you to hand your documents to a stranger’s server. This one never does. Open the tool, drop in as many PDFs as you like, decide the order by dragging the file chips up and down, and the merged document is assembled page by page inside your own browser tab.

This merge pdfs utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

  • 100% client-side - files never leave your device
  • Instant processing, no upload wait
  • Works on desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Free forever, no account required

How to Use the Merge PDFs Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Drop in your PDF files

Drag PDFs onto the upload area or click to browse. You can also paste files from your clipboard. Every file is opened locally — nothing is sent anywhere.

  2. Set the order by dragging the chips

Each file appears as a removable chip. Drag a chip up or down to change where it lands in the output, and use the ✕ on a chip to drop it entirely.

  3. Run the merge

Press Merge. Pages are copied in chip order — first file first — and each source page keeps its original size and rotation.

  4. Download the combined PDF

One file comes out containing every page you queued, in the order you arranged. Your originals are untouched on disk.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to bookmarks and links from the files I merge?

Links inside pages keep working, because pages are copied across intact rather than re-rendered. Outline bookmarks from each file are not carried over, so add a table of contents yourself afterwards if you need one.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Batch mode handles up to 10 files per run, each up to 10 MB. If the merged result would exceed 10 MB you will be told before anything is written, and you can merge in smaller groups and then merge the results.

Does merging reduce quality or make text unselectable?

No. Pages are transferred as-is rather than rasterised, so vector text stays crisp at any zoom and remains searchable and selectable.

Can I merge files that have different page sizes?

Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so a mixed document will contain A4 pages next to Letter pages. If you would rather have one uniform size, run Standardize Page Sizes on the merged file.

Is there a limit on the page count of the merged file?

Limits here are browser memory, not the tool. Very large merges stay on your device and never queue, but a few hundred pages on an older phone can be slow.
