Forms Tools
A fillable document behaves nothing like a flat one, and the difference is worth understanding before you edit it. These tools let you fill a document properly, correct what was typed wrong, and decide which fields stay editable for whoever receives it.
- Fill a form in the browser, clear it, or flatten it so the values become plain text
- List the fields a document actually contains, before you start filling it
- Add new text, checkbox and radio fields, and export or import values as FDF

Forms FAQ
What is the difference between filling and flattening a form?
Filling writes values into the existing interactive fields, so the document stays a form and can be filled again. Flattening draws those values into the page and removes the fields, which is what you need before signing or archiving so the content cannot be altered.
Can I correct a mistyped value in a filled form?
Yes, and it is usually faster than starting over. Clearing a form removes the values but keeps the field structure, so the layout survives and you can refill only the part you got wrong.
How do I see what fields a PDF actually has?
Use the form field lister. It reports the field names, types and current values, which is the fastest way to work out whether a document is fillable or is just a flat scan that happens to look like a form.
