Multiple Pages per Sheet (N-Up) - Free Online Browser Tool

Fit 2 pages side-by-side on one single landscape sheet.

Putting two pages on one landscape sheet cuts both paper use and the number of pages you have to staple. This tool takes consecutive pages from your document, scales each to fit a landscape sheet side by side, and hands back a file ready for duplex printing.

This multiple pages per sheet (n-up) utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

  • 100% client-side - files never leave your device
  • Instant processing, no upload wait
  • Works on desktop, tablet and mobile

How to Use the Multiple Pages per Sheet (N-Up) Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Load the document

Drop in the PDF whose pages you want to pair up.

  2. Choose the output sheet size

Pick A4 or US Letter for the landscape sheet the two pages will share.

  3. Generate the 2-up pairs

Consecutive pages are placed side by side — 1 and 2 on sheet one, 3 and 4 on sheet two, and so on.

  4. Download for duplex printing

Save the landscape PDF and print it double-sided, flipping on the short edge for a book-style read.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my document has an odd number of pages?

The final sheet holds the last page alone, aligned to one side. Nothing is padded or duplicated to make the count even.

Which binding edge should I use?

Short-edge flipping, so the sheet turns like a page in a book. Long-edge would rotate each landscape sheet and is wrong for this layout.

Will the text become too small to read?

On A4 or Letter each page is about 70% of its original linear size. That is comfortable for reading but not for dense reference material — check a page after generating.

Can I add a gutter between the two pages?

Pages are placed adjacent with a standard gap. If you need a wider gap for binding, run Add Binding Margins on the result.

Does this change the document’s page content?

No. Pages are placed as scaled copies on new sheets, so text stays vector and selectable at the new size.
