Legal & Litigation Tools

Legal documents carry obligations that ordinary documents do not. Redaction that actually removes content, exhibit labelling, court formatting, Bates numbering and confidentiality headers are all here, and all of them run locally.

  • Genuine redaction that removes the underlying content, not just covers it
  • Exhibit stickers, dual Bates numbering, protective order headers and court line numbers
  • Redaction styles, a notarised jurat stamp and a corporate seal stamp

Legal & Litigation FAQ

Why is drawing a black box not redaction?

Because it only covers what is visible. The text underneath is still in the file, and anyone who selects it or searches for it can recover what you thought you had hidden. Real redaction removes the characters from the content stream, which is why it has to go through a dedicated redaction tool.

What is the difference between bulk keyword redaction and drawing boxes?

Bulk redaction finds every instance of the terms you list across the whole document and removes them properly, which is reliable but blunt. Drawing boxes lets you target one specific piece of text precisely, but only if you actually remove the content underneath rather than covering it.

What is a protective order header for?

It stamps a confidentiality marking across the pages of a document produced under a court order, so that if pages are separated during handling the restriction stays visible on them. It is a workflow label, not a security control.
