Mirror Pages - Free Online Browser Tool

Flip pages horizontally for back-of-book printing or right-to-left layouts.

A book bound on the right has to print with the odd pages reversed, or the reader has to turn every leaf. The same flip fixes a mirrored slide deck and a right-to-left layout. Mirroring is a geometric transform applied to the page, so nothing inside it changes.

This mirror pages utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

  • 100% client-side - files never leave your device
  • Instant processing, no upload wait
  • Works on desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Free forever, no account required

How to Use the Mirror Pages Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Load the PDF

Mirroring applies to whole pages; individual objects cannot be flipped on their own.

  2. Choose which pages

Every page, odd only, even only, or an explicit list. Odd only is the booklet setting, because facing pages then end up facing the same way.

  3. Process the flip

A transform is written in front of each page content stream rather than re-rendering anything.

  4. Download and print

Print duplex and flip on the long edge for a right-bound booklet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the correct setting for a booklet?

Mirror the odd pages only, then print duplex flipping on the long edge. Mirroring both sides would put the two pages of a spread pointing in opposite directions again.

Does mirroring affect the text?

No. The text is still real selectable text, it simply faces the other way. Note that mirrored text reads backwards, which is correct for the reverse side of a sheet and wrong anywhere else.

Does it re-compress the file?

No. Mirroring writes a transform instruction, so the file stays the same size and the content is untouched.

Can I mirror a specific page only?

Yes, list it in the custom field. Use the odd-only or even-only options for a whole booklet instead, since doing it by hand page by page is error prone.

Does it rotate the page at the same time?

No, mirroring and rotation are separate transforms. A page that also needs rotating should be rotated first, then mirrored, because the two operations do not commute.
