Extract Odd/Even Pages - Free Online Browser Tool
Separate all odd pages or all even pages into new PDFs.
Booklets, folded signatures and duplex misfeeds routinely leave a document whose odd and even pages need separating. This tool splits them in one pass, producing a document of all the recto pages and another of all the verso pages.
This extract odd/even pages utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which pages count as odd?
Page 1 is odd, page 2 is even, counting from the start of the file — independent of any printed folio numbers.
Do I get both sides at once?
This run produces the side you selected. Run it a second time choosing the other side if you need both documents.
Why is this useful for scanned booklets?
A saddle-stitched booklet scans as fronts and backs in one run, and separating by parity reconstructs the two stacks of pages before they were imposed.
Does extraction preserve page quality?
Yes. Pages are copied whole, so no re-rasterisation and no quality loss occurs.
Can I use this on an encrypted PDF?
Not until it is decrypted. Remove the password with Unlock PDF first.
