Scale Content - Free Online Browser Tool

Scale page content up or down while keeping canvas constant.

Sometimes the page size is already right and only the artwork is wrong — text too large, a figure overflowing its box, a form designed for a different scale. This tool keeps every page canvas exactly as it is and scales only what is drawn on it.

This scale content utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

  • 100% client-side - files never leave your device
  • Instant processing, no upload wait
  • Works on desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Free forever, no account required

Common next steps: Resize Canvas Size, Center Page Content.

How to Use the Scale Content Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Load the PDF

Drop in the document whose content needs resizing.

  2. Choose scale up or scale down

Enlarge content to fill more of the page, or shrink it to sit comfortably inside the existing canvas.

  3. Pick a percentage or auto-fit

Enter a specific percentage for precise control, or use auto-fit to scale content to just inside the page boundaries.

  4. Scale and download

Press Scale Content. Page dimensions are unchanged; only the drawing is transformed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do page dimensions change when I scale content?

No. The page canvas stays exactly the same size. That is the whole point of this tool as opposed to Resize Canvas.

What does scaling content above 100% look like?

Content is enlarged around its centre. If you push it far enough, elements near the page edge will be clipped because the canvas has not grown.

Is text still sharp after scaling up?

Yes. Vector text and shapes are transformed geometrically, so they remain resolution-independent and perfectly crisp.

Can I scale content on only some pages?

Yes. Select the pages you want to affect on the thumbnails and leave the rest of the document at its current scale.

How is this different from Resize Canvas?

Resize Canvas changes the paper size and fits the content to it. Scale Content keeps the paper size fixed and changes only the artwork — useful when the page dimensions are already correct for printing.
