Extract PDF Bookmarks - Free Online Browser Tool
Read the bookmark outline out of a document, with the page each entry points to.
A long document that navigates well is one with a working outline, and the outline is also the fastest way to see how a document is structured without reading it. This exports the bookmark tree with its nesting and page destinations.
This extract pdf bookmarks utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My scanned PDF has no bookmarks. Can it make them?
No. An outline is a structure the file has to contain; it cannot be inferred reliably from a scan, which is why almost every scanner output lacks one.
Why resolve page numbers?
Because a bookmark may point at a named destination rather than a page index. Resolving it shows where a reader actually lands, which is what you need when checking an outline is correct.
Will a broken destination stop the export?
No. A single unresolvable entry is skipped and the rest export normally, since one bad link should not cost you the whole outline.
Can I edit or add bookmarks with this?
No, this is a read-only export. The output is useful for auditing an outline or feeding it to another system.
Does nesting survive into CSV?
No. CSV has no hierarchy, so depth is exported as a column. Choose JSON if the parent-child structure matters to you.
