Replace Pages - Free Online Browser Tool

Swap target pages in a PDF with pages from another document.

Redoing a signature page, updating a figure, or replacing a page that came out of a bad scan — this tool swaps specific pages in place. The replacement arrives from a donor PDF, and the target pages you nominate keep their position, so nothing else in the document moves.

This replace pages utility runs completely inside your web browser. Your document is opened locally and processed on your own device using JavaScript and WebAssembly, so your file is never uploaded to any server. There is no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you can handle.

  • 100% client-side - files never leave your device
  • Instant processing, no upload wait
  • Works on desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Free forever, no account required

Common next steps: Insert Pages from PDF, Extract Pages.

How to Use the Replace Pages Tool

Four steps, and the whole thing runs locally on your own device.

  1. Load the document to correct

Drop in the main PDF. Its pages form the skeleton of the result and stay in their existing positions.

  2. Add the replacement pages

Add a second PDF and select the pages from it that should take the place of the originals.

  3. Map replacements to targets

Choose which target page each replacement lands on. The tool shows a before-and-after pairing so the mapping is verifiable before you commit.

  4. Replace and download

Press Replace Pages to write the document with the new pages sitting in the target positions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to match the page size of the replacement?

It helps. If the donor page has different dimensions it is placed as-is, which can leave visible size differences between neighbouring pages.

What happens to annotations on the replaced page?

They go away with the old page, because the annotation belonged to it. The replacement arrives with its own annotations, if it had any.

Can I replace several pages at once?

Yes. Map as many donor pages to target pages as you need in a single run.

How is this different from Delete Pages plus Insert Pages?

The result is the same but this is one operation instead of two, with an explicit mapping you can review — fewer chances of a page landing in the wrong slot.

Can I undo a replacement?

Your source documents are untouched. Reload the main file and start again if the mapping was wrong.
