Add 3mm / 5mm Bleed Margin - Free Online Browser Tool
Expands the PDF art/media box canvas with professional bleed space for edge-to-edge printing.
Bleed is the small extension of your artwork beyond the trim line that guarantees colour runs all the way to the edge. Without it, a guillotine cutting even a millimetre off-square leaves a visible white sliver. This tool adds that margin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is bleed and why does it matter?
Bleed extends the design past the cut line so cutting imprecision does not reveal white paper. Without it, any edge alignment error shows as a white line.
How much bleed do I need?
3mm is the common commercial standard. 5mm suits larger sheets and thicker stock, where cutting tolerance is greater.
Does this automatically extend my background?
No, and that is important. The box expands, but any artwork that stops at the old edge needs extending to the new one — otherwise you have paid for bleed you have not used.
Is bleed needed for a text-only document?
No. Bleed matters where colour or imagery runs to the edge. A white page with margins inside trim needs no bleed at all.
Does adding bleed change my design?
No. It enlarges the page box around your existing content; nothing is scaled or repositioned.
